Bio

Georgina was born in San Isidro, Province of Buenos Aires. She bears the Argentine and Italian citizenships.

She has 20 years of experience in Intellectual Property matters. She started as Trademark Analyst at the Argentine Office of the Industrial Property (INPI) and then she continued her career at various law firms specialized in this matter. Thereat, she has contributed with her expertise in different areas such as the legal and administrative ones. Later on, she was hired to create the Department of Intellectual Property at a Law Firm, which led the corporative general practice. Years later, she decided to start up her own “Boutique Law Firm” specialized in Intellectual Property.

Georgina has a wide experience in assistance and assessment to clients, either at local and international level, among which there are national and multinational companies as well as renown law firms. She constantly provides the most convenient solution to the needs and requirements for each particular case; she is attentive to offering support in the light of new challenges and projects of her clients.

Since May 2009, she works as the Founder Partner of the Boutique Law Firm “Pianta & Associates” rendering legal services as well as assessment on matters such as Intellectual Property, Defense of Competition, Unlawful Competition and related issues.

She has previously worked at national courts of law, at the Law Firm “Roth & Asociados”, at the “República” Insurance Company, at the Argentine Office of Industrial Property (INPI), at the Trademark and Patent Law Firm “Palacio & Asociados”, at “Gordó Llobell & Asociados” law firm and has also been committed to the start-up of the Intellectual Property Department at “Abeledo Gottheil Abogados” law firm.

She is proactive, responsible and focused to the attainment of beneficial results to clients, based on her expertise and knowledge on this matter.

Georgina graduated from secondary school in 1985 at Cardenal Copello School. She studied Law at the Argentine Catholic University (UCA) obtaining her degree in 1994. She has a post-graduate degree in Trademark Law from the School of Law of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). She attended seminars and workshops on Intellectual Property held by different entities, such as the Argentine Association of Industrial Property Agents, the Universidad Austral, among others.

Since 2000, she frequently attends local and international congresses dealing with trademarks, such as INTA, AIPPI, ASIPI, which allow her to keep herself permanently updated. Apart from making a fruitful networking expanding her network of contacts, fostering a close relationship with her clients and identifying, as well, potential customers, she has acted as TableTopic Moderator on several occasions.

Georgina is a member of the Argentine Association of Industrial Property Agents and bears her registration at the Argentine Office of Industrial Property (INPI) as IP Agent.

She speaks Spanish and English fluently and has a very good proficiency in French language.
